Authors--share your books with our troops

Ed Patterson, an independent author I met at the Independent Author's Guild discussion group has joined with Smashwords to offer our troops in Iraq and elsewhere free access to electronic copies of our books through a program called ePubDrop. You can read the details about this program on the Smashwords blog.

This Time is now available through this program.

  1. I'm so glad you told me about this. What a great program. I don't have a book out right now, otherwise I'd definitely be offering my book too.

I currently read ebooks on my iPhone and PDFs are okay only if they're in large print (approximately 16 font minimum). Anything less and it's difficult to read.

So I'm waiting for the one ebook reader to be created which will allow me to buy Kindle ebooks, or Sony ebooks, or eReader books, etc. When that's invented, I'll buy one. I think the new Asus eee ebook reader that is being unveiled this month may have all those capabilities, but until they launch, we won't know. And it's supposed to be half the cost of a kindle.

    Thanks so much for sharing.

Our soldiers, Canadian and U.S. deserve it.
